This article will help you connect to the PayFlow Pro (PayPal) setup for configuring payments.

Connecting Community Funded to your Payflow Pro (PayPal) Payment Processor

Note: You will need a PayPal Pro Business Account. |  Second Note: This setup does not support test transactions

  1. Navigate to your Community Funded (CF) account and select Initiative > Set Up > Payments > Processors > Use Payflow Pro (PayPal). 
  2. On the Payflow Pro (PayPal) form, enter in a Connection Name and Description for identification purposes.
  3. Enter in the following credentials to the self-connect form:
      1. USER, PARTNER, LOGIN, and PASSWORD (See below to find your Payflow Pro (PayPal) keys).
      2. Save Connection.

How to Find your Payflow Pro (PayPal) Keys

  1. Login to your Payflow Pro (PayPal) account to capture the following credentials:
    1. USER = If you set up one or more additional users on the account, this value is the ID of the user authorized to process transactions. If, however, you have not set up additional users, USER has the same value as VENDOR.This is case sensitive.
    2. PARTNER= PayPal or the ID provided to you by the authorized PayPal reseller who registered you for the Gateway, example: VeriSign. This is case sensitive.
    3. LOGIN= Also known as Vendor. This is your merchant login ID created when you registered your account.
    4. PASSWORD = The password you defined while registering for the account. This is case sensitive.
  2. Enter your credentials into the Payflow Pro (PayPal) Connection Form and connect.

Payment Processor Verification Steps

  1. Once your payment processor is connected, you can confirm transactions are working by making a live transaction on the platform and verify the payment connection is configured correctly.
    1. Verify that your live transaction was a successful donation in your Payflow Pro (PayPal) Account.
    2. Verify CF transaction ID passing through as “order_desc”.
    3. Note: This setup does not support test transactions.Turn off Test Mode to process live transactions. To do this, click on the Activate your Account option on your homepage.

Change Payflow Pro (PayPal) Payment Processor

  1. You can change your Payflow Pro (PayPal) Payment Processor connection to different accounts.
  2. In order to change your Payflow Pro (PayPal) connection, return to Initiative > Set Up > Payments > Processors >  Payflow Pro (PayPal) where you can CHANGE your Payflow Pro (PayPal) payment configuration.
  3. Enter in a new connection name, description, and USER, PARTNER, LOGIN, PASSWORD to change your configuration and resume donations.

Disconnect Payflow Pro (PayPal) Payment Processor

  1. To DISCONNECT your Payflow Pro (PayPal) Payment Processor connection return to Initiative > Set Up > Payments > Processors > Payflow Pro (PayPal where you can DISCONNECT your Payflow Pro (PayPal) payment configuration.
  2. Once disconnected, your platform will no longer be able to accept donations until a new payment processor connection is configured.
